Until Miss Klara, the swimming teacher, pairs Annie with Lisa, who swims just like a sea otter!

From a review by Jay Heale “… though just as frightening for some children, is water. Deep water. No problem if you have a copy of Annie Learns to Swim written & illustrated by Katrin Coetzer. What a sensible publication! A simple, engaging story incorporating a child’s nervousness at swimming and showing basic instruction in action. But this isn’t a “teach yourself” book – it’s a story about Annie and her doubts and fears, and her growing friendship with Lisa, a better swimmer. The author’s pictures are uncomplicated, set out with plenty of space, and generally cheersome. This one is also in Afrikaans: Annie Leer Swem.”
