Body tracing: Body awareness activities in early learning intervention

Over the past term we used a body tracing activity with the grade R learners who are in our program. The process leads the children from tracing each other’s body outlines to identifying and naming body parts. The activity consists of talking about the functions of our hands arms and legs and then filling the body outline with lots of color that the children choose.

Children can use their favorite colors or the colors that they simply feel like choosing in the moment. The end products speak for themselves. Each and every body picture is unique in color, shape and size and is a reflection of how the child feels in the moment.

Thank you to our early learners at Funimfundo Pre-school, Die Bron Primary and Masakhane Primary for being wonderful, beautiful and unique. Our wish is to support you in your educational journey on all levels.
